Breathe. Trust. Birth.

Hey, I’m Chels

I’m a certified Hypnobirthing Australia™ Practitioner and Childbirth Educator based in the Snowy Mountains. I’m also a homebirth mama and have experienced firsthand the power of a calm natural birth and the deep joy of becoming a parent.

I’m passionate about helping women approach birth with confidence and clarity so they can make choices that feel right for them every step of the way.

Hypnobirthing is a modern evidence based way to prepare your mind and body for birth using breathing mindfulness relaxation and education. Whether you’re planning a home birth hospital birth or caesarean the tools you learn can help reduce fear build confidence and help you feel more connected and in control during your journey.

The Positive Birth Program™ is Hypnobirthing Australia™’s official childbirth education course. It’s practical and designed to give you and your birth partner the knowledge and skills you need to feel ready and supported. The course combines relaxation self hypnosis visualisation and a deep understanding of how birth works to help you feel strong and empowered before during and after birth. It supports all birth preferences and outcomes so you can make confident choices no matter what happens.

Now with doula training underway I’m excited to bring labour and postpartum support to my work — to be the village we all need in those first weeks after birth, offering gentle practical help and emotional care so you can recover and connect with your new baby.

We breathe. We trust. We birth.

FAQ

Birth education

  • Hypnobirthing is a gentle and effective approach to birth. It uses deep breathing, relaxation, visualisation and positive mindset techniques to help reduce fear, anxiety and pain. At Snowy Mountains Hypnobirth, we guide you to trust your body and your baby. Our goal is to help you feel calm, confident and in control no matter how your birth unfolds.

  • Group courses are a great way to learn in a supportive and social setting alongside other expectant parents. You can share the journey and feel part of a community.

Private courses are one-on-one and fully personalised. They’re perfect if you want a flexible schedule or prefer a more tailored approach.

Both options offer the same empowering content, practical tools and ongoing support.

  • The ideal time to start is between 20 and 30 weeks into your pregnancy. This gives you plenty of time to practise the techniques and build your confidence.

If you are further along, that’s absolutely okay too. Many parents find value in the course even when they start later in pregnancy.

  • Yes, definitely. Hypnobirthing is for every kind of birth. Whether your birth is natural, involves medical intervention or you’re planning a caesarean, the techniques help you stay calm, focused and informed.

support

  • I provide continuous emotional, physical, and informational support during your labour and birth. That means I’m there to help you feel calm and confident, offer comfort techniques, help you understand what’s happening, and support your partner too.

  • No, I’m there to complement the care you get from your medical team and your partner. I focus on your comfort and emotional wellbeing so everyone else can do their jobs more easily.

  • I support all kinds of births, including caesareans. I’ll be there to advocate for your wishes, help you understand what’s happening, and offer emotional support before, during, and after surgery.

  • I help your partner by guiding them with comfort techniques, encouraging them, and giving them space to rest when needed. Together we create a calm, supportive team.

  • I provide hands-on help and emotional support in the weeks after your baby is born. This can include gentle baby care, helping you settle feeding, light household tasks, and simply being there to listen and encourage you.

  • It depends on what you need. Some families book me for just a few visits, others for a few weeks or months. We tailor support to fit your unique situation.

  • I offer practical support and encouragement around feeding and settling but I’m not a lactation consultant. If you need specialised help, I can guide you to the right expert.

  • Absolutely. I’m happy to help with older children, so you can focus on recovery and bonding with your new baby. I am a Diploma qualified Early Childhood Educator too!

  • If you want extra hands and heart in those busy early weeks, or if you’re feeling overwhelmed or isolated, a postpartum doula can be the village you need to feel supported and cared for.
